Shafaqna English– According to a senior official from a local mining association, a tragic accident occurred on Tuesday at an artisanal gold mine in the Central African Republic, resulting in the deaths of more than 100 individuals. The collapse, which took place at an unregulated mining site, is one of the deadliest such incidents in the country’s recent history.
While a local prosecutor verified the occurrence of a mine collapse in Zamboye—a village situated close to the Cameroonian frontier—he noted that the precise number of casualties and further specifics remain under active investigation.
