Shafaqna English– On Wednesday(26 Aug 2026), gold prices experienced a slight decline, retreating from the more than three-month peak they had reached during the previous trading session, as market participants turned their attention to an upcoming U.S. inflation report that is widely expected to provide critical guidance on the Federal Reserve’s future interest rate trajectory.
As of 0410 GMT, spot gold was down 0.3% at $4,642.74 per ounce, having reached its highest point since mid-May on Tuesday, following a robust rally last week that was fueled by the Treasury Department’s bond repurchase plan. U.S. gold futures, however, inched 0.1% higher to $4,700.70.
