Asian industries benefited from AI boom in August

Shafaqna English– Private surveys published on Tuesday(1 Sep 2026) indicated that Asian factories continued to operate at a robust pace in August, driven by an upsurge in global demand for AI-related hardware. This trend has improved the region’s economic prospects, although the prolonged Middle East war continues to generate uncertainty and push operational costs higher for manufacturers.

Manufacturing activity expanded across China, Japan, and South Korea during August, driven by strong orders for semiconductors, computers, and other artificial intelligence-related goods. This growth helped the three Asian economies partially absorb the escalating cost pressures resulting from the ongoing geopolitical conflict.
