This trend has improved the region’s economic prospects, although the prolonged Middle East war continues to generate uncertainty and push operational costs higher for manufacturers.
Manufacturing activity expanded across China, Japan, and South Korea during August, driven by strong orders for semiconductors, computers, and other artificial intelligence-related goods. This growth helped the three Asian economies partially absorb the escalating cost pressures resulting from the ongoing geopolitical conflict.
