Shafaqna English– The death toll from catastrophic flooding in Nepal has exceeded 1,000 as of Tuesday, with rescue teams intensifying efforts to reach tens of thousands still unaccounted for nearly a week after the Himalayan disaster devastated towns and river valleys.
Utilizing heavy machinery, helicopters, and excavators, specialized teams from China, India, and Nepal have constructed temporary bridges to access isolated communities and are digging through the debris of collapsed hydropower projects in an urgent bid to free nearly 300 workers trapped inside tunnels.
The scale of the disaster has overwhelmed local resources, prompting an international response as authorities race against time to locate survivors and recover bodies.
