Iran urges IAEA to take action following US attack on Karun Nuclear Power Plant

Shafaqna English- Iran’s Permanent Mission to the UN and international organizations in Vienna has called on the IAEA to take appropriate measures following a US missile attack on the Karun Nuclear Power Plant.

The mission reported that in the early hours of July 19, the US launched several missiles at the Darkhoveyn site, which it described as a symbol of Iran’s scientific independence.

The statement noted that this was the eighteenth wave of strikes against Iran’s safeguarded peaceful nuclear facilities since June 2025, when joint US-Israeli actions began. Iran stated that these strikes target civilian infrastructure solely because of Iran’s resistance to coercion and rejection of unconditional surrender.
