Shafaqna English- It was announced on Wednesday(22 Jul 2026) by the Trump administration that a $5 billion budget has been earmarked to combat longstanding scientific hurdles in various fields via AI.
The statement notes that the agencies intend to use the money to uncover the root factors behind chronic diseases, accelerate the pace of drug development, and engineer longer-lasting building materials, among additional initiatives.
Michael Kratsios, technology adviser to President Trump, confirmed in a Reuters interview that scientists would have at their disposal the Department of Energy’s supercomputers, AI capabilities, specialized databases, and further resources needed to perform experiments through algorithms.
