Shafaqna English- Over half of South Sudan’s population, nearly eight million people, are facing critical levels of hunger, according to the United Nations.
The organization wrote on its X page on Thursday, August 6, that there is a risk of famine occurring in four areas of the country, and that the outbreak of cholera has so far claimed the lives of more than 1,700 people.
It is reported that the United Nations Security Council is scheduled to hold a meeting in New York regarding the situation in South Sudan.
