Indian firm triples profit on higher oil prices

Shafaqna English- On Friday(7 Aug 2026), Oil India, an Indian exploration company, announced that its net profit for the first quarter had more than tripled compared to the same period last year. This significant increase was driven primarily by higher realized prices for crude oil and a boost in overall production output.

The company’s standalone earnings, which reflect only its domestic operations and exclude contributions from joint ventures and international activities, surged to 28.70 billion rupees ($301.45 million) for the quarter that ended on June 30. In the same quarter of the previous year, this figure had stood at 8.13 billion rupees.
