Shafaqna English– China’s official media reported on Friday(14 Aug 2026) that a mudslide in Zhejiang Province, located in the eastern part of the country, claimed one life and left three people missing. In response to the ongoing adverse weather, provinces across eastern and southern China are now on high alert, bracing themselves for further downpours and the possibility of widespread flooding.
The official Xinhua News Agency provided further details, stating that the mudslide occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. local time (which corresponded to 22:30 GMT on Thursday) in Changxing County. The force of the landslide was severe enough to cause the collapse of a residential building, adding to the destruction caused by the natural disaster.
