UK to pay higher prices for housing asylum seekers

Shafaqna English- Ministers in UK are considering increasing the payments for housing asylum seekers in private rental properties as part of Andy Burnham’s plan to distribute accommodation more evenly across the country.

Using more private rental accommodations, known as “dispersal,” along with former military barracks, is more cost-effective than relying on expensive hotels for asylum seekers.

However, officials believe it may be necessary to raise the strict limits on how much the Home Office can pay landlords in rent to prevent the concentration of housing in the most deprived areas.
