Shafaqna English- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported on Sunday that over 4,000 people have been displaced from three villages in North Kordofan state, Sudan, due to worsening security conditions in the past two days.
In a statement, the organization indicated that its Displacement Tracking Matrix teams estimated that 4,250 individuals fled the villages of Um Arda, Tamid, and Al-Khor Al-Abyad in the Shikan locality on August 14 and 15.
The affected families sought safety in other areas within Shikan locality and in the city of Omdurman, located west of the capital, Khartoum. The UN agency warned that the situation remains tense and volatile, emphasizing that it continues to closely monitor developments on the ground.
