Shafaqna English- Communities in Syria are actively clearing rubble and rebuilding neighborhoods and livelihoods that have been devastated by over a decade of conflict and crisis.
The war has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and the displacement of millions, while causing massive damage to the country’s infrastructure, estimated to exceed $100 billion.
Piles of broken concrete and twisted metal obstruct most areas. Roads remain closed, and water and sewage systems are still unrepaired. Power and essential services are struggling to return, leaving entire communities isolated.
