Shafaqna English– According to data released Monday(17 Aug 2026) by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, vaccination coverage among American kindergarteners declined by 0.1% during the 2025–2026 academic year. This marks yet another annual drop in a persistent downward trend that has seen immunization rates fall in every school year except one since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CDC also provided a breakdown of coverage rates for specific vaccines, noting that the diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTaP) vaccine stood at 92%, while the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine as well as the polio vaccine both reached 92.4% coverage among kindergarteners.
