Shafaqna English– In response to three successive earthquakes that hit Granada province on Tuesday(18 Aug 2026), officials imposed restrictions on tourism at the iconic Alhambra complex. The tremors also inflicted some damage on local buildings and led to the closure of various museums and sporting facilities as a safety measure.
Andalusia’s regional representative Antonio Sanz confirmed to the press that a minimum of three people had suffered light injuries in the quakes. He also noted that one of the injured, who is underage, was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
