Shafaqna English- Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa province is stepping up efforts to develop a comprehensive Halal ecosystem, aiming to attract more Muslim travellers, expand exports and draw investment from countries with strong Halal industries, according to Vietnam Plus.
Khanh Hoa is positioning itself as a Halal-friendly destination by developing tourism, food production, processing, logistics and investment opportunities in line with Vietnam’s national strategy for the Halal industry through 2030.
Following its merger with Ninh Thuan, the province now has more than 500 kilometres of coastline, nearly 200 islands and four major bays, providing a strong base for beach, cruise, wellness, ecotourism and cultural tourism. Local Cham heritage and traditional communities could also offer distinctive experiences for Muslim visitors.
Authorities are working to establish a unified Halal ecosystem covering raw-material production, processing, certification, logistics, trade promotion and investment. A provincial programme is also targeting the development of Halal-certified goat and sheep products for domestic and export markets.
Khanh Hoa plans to attract investment in Halal-compliant hotels, restaurants, resorts and tourist attractions, while promoting the destination in key markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, the Middle East and South Asia. Businesses are developing packages around wellness, golf, MICE, Cham culture, community tourism and ecotourism.
The province also plans to strengthen Halal-related training and cooperation with international certification bodies and business partners. Its Cam Ranh International Airport, with 54 international routes to 11 countries operated by 29 airlines, provides an important advantage for expanding international connectivity.
By July 2026, Khanh Hoa had recorded 15.1 million tourist arrivals, including 5.5 million international visitors, while tourism revenue exceeded VND52.14 trillion ($1.99 billion). International arrivals were up 67.2% year on year, underscoring the province’s growing potential as a regional tourism and Halal-economy hub.
