Shafaqna English– Airbus has been forced to pull back on its plans to reduce telework, according to informed sources, after facing a strong backlash from trade unions that included disruptive strikes across its Spanish plants. The company has now opted for a more moderate approach to workplace attendance.
Workers at Airbus’s Spanish facilities have been engaging in intermittent strikes since July, while their French counterparts have also held sporadic demonstrations.
The protests are directed against management’s proposal to require white-collar staff to be physically present at the office for four days per week starting in September, a significant increase from the current three-day on-site requirement.
