Shafaqna English– Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, announced on Friday(28 Aug 2026) that it had revised its spam policy in Europe to address concerns raised by the European Union, which could have otherwise resulted in a significant antitrust fine against the company. This policy change is an effort to avoid legal confrontation with European regulators.
Following complaints from publishers about Google’s site reputation abuse policy, the American company became a focal point for EU regulators. Publishers argued that this policy allowed Google to exploit the reputation of other sites and harm competitors.
