Shafaqna English- On Saturday(8 Aug 2026), Typhoon Dolphin struck southern Okinawa in Japan, leaving five injured and knocking out electricity for 14,000 structures. Meanwhile, China closed its harbors and ferry services in anticipation of the storm reaching its eastern shoreline.
The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that at 0300 GMT, the storm was situated about 160 km (99 miles) to the northwest of Kume Island, Okinawa, and was moving in a northwesterly direction at 15 kph (9 mph).
