Shafaqna English- As Britain grapples with its fifth heatwave of the year, Prime Minister Andy Burnham will chair an emergency response committee meeting on Wednesday(12 Aug 2026) to consider measures to combat extreme heat, wildfires, and drought, his office announced.
The UK’s meteorological office warned on Tuesday(11 Aug 2026) that temperatures are expected to reach around 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) from Thursday(13 Aug 2026) across southern and eastern England, as well as parts of the Midlands.
