Shafaqna English- Israeli settlers performed Jewish rituals at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday, with the official approval of Israeli authorities, representing a significant escalation in the erosion of the status quo governing this holy site.
The new development represents a shift from the earlier policy of allowing Jewish extremists implicit permission to pray at the Muslim holy site.
Jewish extremists have regularly carried out raids on the Muslim holy site; however, they are officially prevented from bringing in prayer books and openly performing rituals.
