Moderna’s success in skin cancer treatment

Shafaqna English– A late-phase clinical study revealed that Moderna’s personalized mRNA vaccine, co-developed with Merck, significantly lowered the likelihood of melanoma returning or metastasizing when used in conjunction with the immunotherapy agent Keytruda.

The compelling efficacy data from this trial reassured investors about the commercial viability of the treatment, propelling Moderna’s shares to soar by roughly 150% and pushing the company’s market valuation to its highest point in multiple years.

According to Moderna President Stephen Hoge, the company anticipates that its personalized mRNA therapy could become accessible to a significant number of patients who have had surgery for high-risk melanoma by the end of next year.

He emphasized that the clinical data supports a rapid transition from trial settings to real-world application, potentially benefiting thousands of postoperative patients who currently have limited options for preventing disease recurrence.
