Shafaqna English- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met with Faiq Zaidan, head of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council, during his ongoing visit to Iraq.
He discussed expanding judicial cooperation and following up on signed agreements and memoranda.
Ghalibaf began his visit on Wednesday, holding separate talks with Iraq’s parliament speaker, prime minister, and president.
In his meetings with Iraqi leaders, he emphasised the strong opportunities for bilateral relations and mentioned Iran and Iraq’s key regional roles among Islamic and Arab nations.
He pointed to the US as a source of recent regional conflicts and instability, including interruptions to Persian Gulf energy routes.
He stated the 40-day war proved that the US fails to ensure security for regional countries and instead compromises their stability.
He emphasised that Iran and Iraq can achieve stability through unity without foreign interference, highlighting their crucial role.
