Cuba starts school year despite ongoing crisis

Shafaqna English– Cuba will proceed with the start of the school year next week as scheduled, despite a severe and ongoing crisis that has disrupted transportation and electricity, led to a decline in teacher numbers, and caused shortages of essential supplies such as uniforms. This decision reflects the government’s determination to maintain education amid difficult circumstances.

According to Cuba’s education minister, approximately 1.4 million students at the child and adolescent levels will begin the academic year in the early days of September. This statistic reflects the education system’s effort to maximize student coverage under critical conditions.
