Shafaqna English- The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have voiced concern over the increase in child malnutrition in Afghanistan.
At a meeting held on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week, representatives of the international organizations said that despite the importance of breastfeeding, many mothers in Afghanistan face serious challenges in feeding their infants due to a lack of awareness, limited access to counselling services, and economic difficulties.
They warned that malnutrition can seriously affect children’s physical and mental development.
