Shafaqna English- According to Yonhap news agency on Sunday(9 Aug 2026), a former SK Hynix employee received an 18‑month prison sentence for disclosing semiconductor manufacturing secrets to a Chinese company.
Yonhap added that the Seoul High Court, reviewing the defendant’s appeal, upheld the initial ruling for leaking classified CMOS image sensor technology to a Chinese company in 2022 – a tech used in non‑memory chips for smartphone cameras and laptops.
