China’s e-truck exports grow alongside domestic sales

Shafaqna English– Exports of Chinese electric trucks to other parts of Asia have soared to significantly higher levels, adding further momentum to an already robust domestic market. The underlying driver for this growth is the sharp escalation in fuel prices driven by the war in Iran, which has made conventional diesel-powered trucks more expensive to operate and has therefore sped up the transition to electric mobility throughout the region.

By rapidly adopting electric trucks across various weight classes — from smaller delivery vans to large articulated haulers — China has managed to partially insulate its domestic auto industry from the worst of the energy-driven disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict. Seeing this success, other countries are now hurrying to replicate the Chinese approach in order to secure their own energy resilience and reduce operational costs for their freight sectors.
