Shafaqna English– A deadly landslide struck South Korea on Monday(17 Aug 2026), claiming at least one life and leaving three others injured, according to news outlets. The incident occurred as torrential rains battered the country’s southern regions.
Yonhap News reported that the landslide hit a residential apartment complex in Geoje, South Gyeongsang province, collapsing and covering the first floor with debris. Rescue teams successfully extracted three people from the building; however, one of these individuals was later pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, according to the same agency.
