Shafaqna English– The Trump administration released its approved two‑year plan on Friday, cutting water allocations to three southwestern states – California, Nevada, and Arizona – to cope with the Colorado River’s dwindling supply.
Under the plan signed by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, the three lower‑basin states will experience roughly a 21% reduction in their Colorado River water during 2027 and 2028, though the plan also allows for potentially much steeper cuts in the years that follow.
