Shafaqna English– Search and rescue efforts in Nepal restarted on Saturday(29 Aug 2026) after a short weather-induced pause, with rescuers still hunting for roughly 3,000 missing individuals in the wake of destructive floods that killed hundreds and devastated a region adjacent to Tibet.
Nepal, a poor Himalayan country of 30 million people, requested specialist help from abroad, while its finance minister added in a Reuters interview that an additional $4–$5 billion would be needed for rebuilding efforts after the calamity.
