Shafaqna English- Google.org commits $10 million to support AI-powered social impact projects across Asia-Pacific, focusing on agriculture, health, and energy to address regional challenges and improve lives.
Google has announced the “APAC AI for Society” initiative — a $10 million philanthropic commitment by Google.org to support non-profit and social impact organizations in the Asia-Pacific region. The program aims to empower local innovators to build transformative AI solutions in three key sectors: agriculture, health, and energy.
In agriculture, AI tools can help farmers boost productivity, better monitor crops, and combat climate-related threats like pests and disease. In healthcare, AI promises faster diagnoses, improved patient outcomes, and expanded access to underserved populations. In energy, AI applications are already improving traffic flow and reducing emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future.
With this initiative, Google is reinforcing its belief that AI can drive meaningful, scalable change — helping to build a healthier, more sustainable, and resilient Asia-Pacific region. More details about the first grant recipients will be shared in the coming months.
